Dear Pointe Estero Unit Owners,

Warm greetings from Fort Myers Beach!  I’ve just finished my first 30 days at this beautiful resort, and I can tell you that I have enjoyed every moment of it. 

I’ve had an opportunity to meet many of you personally, but for those that I have not had the pleasure of seeing, I ask the next time you are at the property, please stop by and say hello. 

Season was almost as close to perfect as you can get.  The weather was warm, our proactive policies on Spring Break have kept the property uneventfully boring, and I have to add that you can be very proud of having one of the most beautiful properties on Fort Myers beach. 

I have been busy learning the ropes, and getting up-to-date on what is going on around here.  We are currently freshening up our Hurricane Plan and hoping, at the same time, to not refer to it this year (or any year for that matter).  That plan includes procuring access cards for a few staff members that will allow us to get back to the property to evaluate damage as soon as any storms pass, unless it is determined that there is a dangerous situation involved. 

As far as the resort is concerned, SunStream has focused on a strategy for getting top dollars for our available rooms.  This has resulted in a 3.1% decrease in Occupancy and a 15.1% increase on Average Daily Rate through the first quarter of the year.  What that means to our rental program owners is an increase of 18.0% in distribution, with less wear and tear on the units. 

The immediate future is a little murky.  Of immediate concern is the price of gas, and how will it effect our summer vacation market.  On a positive note, I would not be surprised to see many of those government stimulus checks heading our way.
