Greetings from Fort
Myers Beach. I hope this update finds you well.
Condominium Association Happenings
We are in the
process of completing the condominium budget for 2010.
Current activities include looking at each income and
expense category to ensure that we are putting forward a
streamlined budget, without a noticeable decrease in
services or value. All current vendors have been made
aware that any price increases, unless justifiable,
would not be accepted. Other vendors have been
evaluated to see if there were opportunities to receive
comparable or additional services at a better price.
The Association Board will meet on
October 15, 2009 to consider this budget.
Recently, there
have been several changes made to Florida Pool
Regulation 64E-9. One new requirement is that we
provide the State with a report from a licensed engineer
stating that we have adequate lighting to ensure a safe
atmosphere at night. We are currently in the process of
having this study done. The resort is in compliance
with all other changes to this rule.
Resort Happenings
The Lee County
Visitors Bureau recently hosted the E-Awards breakfast
to honor hospitality industry employees who go above and
beyond in the service they provide to visitors to our
area. Employees are nominated by guests who share
their experiences with our Tourism Bureau about why
certain employees should be recognized for their
actions. This year Pointe Estero was well represented
by our star employees Jamie Gregor, Ibrahim Maaliki and
Jennifer Walla.
In July and August
we continued to see the trend of similar occupancy
levels to last year, but at discounted rates. Now that
the busy summer period is over, we are taking the
opportunity to freshen up each suite. Each unit is
taken out of service for an adequate period, which
allows the Housekeeping and Maintenance staff to do
additional tasks to keep the rooms at the level that our
owners and guests have come to expect.
Comment Cards
Our comment cards
continue to show we are exceeding our guest’s
expectations. Our combined score for July was 95.65
and August was 96.43. Some sample comments:

The Resort at
Marina Village in Cape Coral is getting close to opening
their doors. SunStream has been contracted by the
