Port of the Islands Hotel Condominium Association
25000 Tamiami Trail East
Naples, Florida 34114
Dear Hotel Condominium Owners,
It is time, once again, to update all
the unit owners on the activity that will be taking
place at the Port of the Islands Resort.
We are going to start the
construction of the re-roofing process on September
24th, 2007. The “M” building will be re-roofed first,
followed by the “F” building. This process will take
about 80 days to complete.
The Association has ordered three new
washers and three new dryers for the laundry facility.
In the past we had a vendor taking care of the washers
and dryers with a 30/70 split. Now the Association will
be getting 100% of the profit instead of the previous
30%.
Shortly, we will be in the process of
making a Business Center on the second floor where the
book library is now located. The Business Center will
consist of two stations each equipped with a 17” flat
panel LCD, MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word), along
with a laser printer. Printed pages will be available
at a nominal fee. The Board of Directors will continue
researching the availability of a wireless connection.
The Association will also have a
website which should be accessible by the middle of
October. SunStream will be hosting the web site for the
Association. This site will post the meetings, agenda
and the minutes. When this site is completed, we will
send all the information you will need to easily access
your information. We are very excited about this…Hope
you will be too!!!
In paragraph 17.12 page 1340 of the
Association documents it states… “Motor homes, trailers,
recreational vehicles which do not fit in a standard
parking space, boats, campers, motorcycles, trucks
larger than one (1) ton and vans or trucks used for
commercial purposes shall not be permitted to be parked
or stored in or on Port of the Islands Resort, a Hotel
Condominium, except for trucks furnishings goods and
services during the daylight hours and except as the
Condominium Association may designate for such use by
appropriate rules and regulations. The Condominium
Association shall have the right to authorize the towing
away of any vehicles, which violate this Declaration or
the rules and regulations of the Condominium Association
with the costs to be borne by the Condominium Unit Owner
or Violator. In addition, the Board shall adopt rules
and regulations from time to time regulating and
limiting the size, weight, type and place and manner of
operation of vehicles on the Condominium Property.”
The Board of Directors has decided
that you may park your boat/trailer over by the tennis
court parking lot for Friday, Saturday and Sunday only.
This must not exceed the one parking space that is
allowed. This means you cannot keep your boat/trailer
attached to your vehicle at any time while parked in
that area. If your boat/trailer is too large for the
one parking place you must park your boat/trailer over
at the Marina.
In recent years there have been
complaints regarding people parking at the Port of the
Islands Resort who are not allowed. We have been working
on a system that should work for everyone. All owners
will be receiving a static cling sticker (place in
drivers side windshield - bottom left hand corner). All
other renters will have a parking pass that will hang on
the rearview mirror stating the check-in and check-out
dates. For Restaurant guests and all other guests, the
North side of the parking lot will be designated for
their use. Everyone will have to register at the front
desk to be parked anywhere else on the property. The
Marina will work with us on getting parking passes for
the shared parking areas. This is a great beginning on
policing the parking lot.
The Association will need the
following information in order to send you your parking
sticker:
Name
Unit Number
Make, Model & Year of Vehicle
Plate Number
If you have more than one vehicle,
please send information for both vehicles. You can send
or fax this to the office to:
25000 Tamiami Trail East
Naples, FL 34114
Fax: 239-394-4335
Hope that everyone has had a great
summer and we look forward to seeing you this Season…
Thank you,
Melanie Bridger
