Welcome! 2006
was a great season, despite the negative effect from warmer
weather up north. The property has been busy and full of
activity as we welcomed back many owners and returning guests.
We are now coming into our “quieter” time and looking forward to
a very productive and busy summer!
The Park Shore Resort Board Meeting was
held on March 29, 2006. Major topics included the potential
development of the areas near the tennis courts and the
retention pond. It was decided that Planning Development Inc.,
a consulting firm, would survey and assess these areas and lay
out possible scenarios for future development. There was a
general discussion of projects for 2006, and the topic of
maintenance fees for non-rental units was also addressed. SunStream’s Director of Technology, Wayne Rachel presented a very
informative demonstration of Owner Works, our new owner website,
and the upcoming wireless Internet access for the resort.
As highlighted in our previous newsletter,
the new Owner Works website will be up and running very soon!
Park Shore Resort will be the first to go online with this new
site. You will be able to access meeting minutes, sales
information and other useful areas. Brenda Stewart, Owner
Services Manager for SunStream will contact all owners by letter
to assist you in setting up user IDS and passwords.
Property-wide wireless Internet access will
soon be in place at Park Shore. Installation of the necessary
antennas is going on now and should be complete by the end of
June.
It has taken awhile to get there, but we
have saved tens of thousands of dollars with the method of
installation we chose and now we can look forward to completion
soon. .
Work continues with various projects to
improve and beautify the property. The spa area was closed
briefly to resurface and new gel coat was installed. The new
gazebo furniture has been selected and will sport a newer look
with metal frames and faux granite accents. The color is still
to be decided. New plants and flowers are being added, as we
have seen that some of our plants did not survive Hurricane
Wilma as well as we had hoped and will need to be replaced.
The exterior painting is almost complete, with only a few lanais
and exterior doors left to be done.
Planned projects for May and June include
the installation of rain gutters in the two story building and
the addition of decorative shutters to the building facades. We
feel the wooden shutters will greatly enhance the exterior
appearance. Please see the outside of unit 225 for a preview.
Our recent guests have had great things to say about Park Shore
Resort:
- “Fabulous!”
- “Everything was beautiful…”
- “Loved the atmosphere…”
- “The staff were friendly, polite and
helpful”
- “The housekeeping was extremely well done”
Refurbishment
Phase III of our refurbishment program is winding down into
final completion. The new living room and bedroom lamps have
arrived and the dining room chandeliers and vanity lights for
the bathrooms have been installed. The silk plants are on the
way.
We will be finalizing details for the new
artwork soon. Finally, we expect the new sofas and chairs in
early May. Everything is coming together beautifully for a
great finish.
A refurbishment meeting was held on
February 10th and a program was developed for 2006. The program
will include painting of the unit interiors, in room safes in
the master bedroom closet, and lanai carpet for those units in
need of new flooring.
Summer is a great time to visit
Park Shore Resort. Look for the property to be at its best as we
continue to make improvements that all can enjoy. We look
forward to welcoming you back on your next visit!
