Welcome!  2007 is off to a great start.  After wonderful and busy holidays here at Park Shore, we are now seeing many owners and returning guests. We’re looking forward to a great season!

The Park Shore Annual Meeting was held on December 6th, 2006.  Attendance was high and the meeting went well.  The main concerns addressed in the meeting were insurance and budget issues. The Board will continue to seek reasonable premium prices for wind insurance.  Bids are being collected and a decision will be reached by April1st, 2007.

It was decided to shelve discussion and action on the development of the areas behind the tennis courts and the retention ponds for a year.  It was deemed advisable to wait due to market volatility and the need to focus attention on insurance issues.  There were no new candidates for election to the board.  We would like to thank Jeffrey Saunders and Don Steele for continuing in their present positions. 

Sunstream Realty sponsored an owners’ cocktail party on the eve of the annual meeting.  It was well received and owners and their guests spent an enjoyable evening. 

Planting and mulching continues around the property.  We are testing new plants that are more drought resistant.  Our groundskeeper Edil Sanchez is repairing loose cobblestones on pathways.  Worn areas throughout are being painted including the pathway to the bridge. . Look for the property to be at its best as we continue to make improvements!

Congratulations to Gabriela Vidal, the recipient of the Manager’s Award of Excellence for 2006.   This annual award recognizes the Park shore Resort Employee of the Year.  Gabriela, who has been with us since 2000, was this year’s unanimous choice!    Gabriela continually works with others to insure that quality and production standards are met and takes a leadership role in meetings to communicate comments and concerns that relate to the Housekeeping Department.  Gabriela has been a key contributor to the development of the inspection program.  We are proud of Gabriela and her many accomplishments!

We are test marketing a new DVD rental program.  So far the response has been good.  We currently have sixty titles, including classics and children’s, and are adding new ones as we see which movies are the most popular rentals.  

Refurbishment

The installation of the in room safes is now complete.  The painting of the condo interiors is in progress.  We are waiting for one final bid on the lanai carpeting and then work will commence.

Summary  

Winter is a wonderful time to be at Park Shore. Our hard work is producing great results as we make improvements to the property that all can enjoy.     We look forward to seeing you on your next visit!
