Greetings from Fort Myers Beach!  I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you.  I am originally from Michigan where I attended Eastern Michigan University and earned a bachelors degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.  I relocated from Michigan to Florida almost two years ago.  When I relocated to Florida, I was lucky to find SunStream and have enjoyed my time on Fort Myers Beach as the General Manager for Santa Maria Resort.  Then this past April, I was offered the opportunity to move over to GullWing as the new General Manager.  I have enjoyed the first two months very much, and I look forward to meeting each of you while visiting on your next trip. 

Since I started at GullWing, we have been very busy as season winds down.  We are now making plans to begin some of the projects we would like to complete during the summer months.  Rentals have continued to be very good this year with a nice increase in owner distributions compared to last year.  We are also completing the final item for refurbishment this week so you can look forward to seeing the improvements on your next visit. 

The staff has been very busy maintaining the property throughout this season.  We are now looking forward to scheduling some additional projects for this summer.  Items we are looking at include installing new tile floors in the elevators, carpet cleaning of all interior corridors, and replacing the boardwalk that goes out towards the beach.  We are excited to make these improvements and maintain GullWing’s excellent appearance.

The rental program has been enjoying a very successful year so far.  Some of our accomplishments this year are listed below: 

• Owner distributions for the first four months of the year increased by almost 13%

• Revenue also increased by almost 10%

• The increased revenue and owner distributions have been driven by a 6% increase in occupancy.

• The summer months continue to show signs of significant revenue increases.

• Bookings for June, July, and August are coming in much faster then last year.

As season was ending, we did not forget about the last refurbishment item from last year.  This week and last week, the drape installers have been very busy throughout the resort.  They are currently finishing up the last few units today, so the new drapes will be in for you to enjoy on your next visit.  Soon I will be scheduling a meeting with the Refurbishment Committee to discuss possible items for this year.  If you have any recommendations or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
