Dear Bellasera Owner:
I would first like to take a moment
to introduce myself; my name is John Greulich and I am
your new General Manager here at the prestigious
Bellasera Resort. I am married and have four daughters
as well as a granddaughter and have resided primarily in
the Midwest, although I am coming most recently from
Daytona Beach, Florida. I have over twenty years of
hospitality management experience starting in food and
beverage before moving into General Management
positions. I have had regional responsibilities in food
and beverage as well as overall hotel operations. I want
to tell you how much of an honor and privilege it is to
me to have been chosen for this position. I will do
everything in my power to live up to the expectations of
you the owner, SunStream Hotels and Resorts and the
associates with who I work.
The first quarter of 2007 showed very
strong revenue increases over the same period last year.
We are continuing to pace ahead of last years revenues
for bookings received through mid-April, this trend
continues through September. We are lagging in our
average daily rate in that time period but we have had
recent discussions on some marketing programs and
packages we plan on implementing to bolster the rate
during that time period.
Our competitive set comparisons
continue to show the Bellasera as one of the market
leaders in the Naples area. We are receiving more than
our fair share against our competitive set in all areas
of rate, revenue and occupancy. This may become more
difficult as we approach the summer months and
competitors reduce their rates to bolster occupancy and
we may feel that it is unwise to sacrifice the integrity
of our rates to compete.
Although this may sound like
repetitive old news, Bellasera has again topped the
chart on the TripAdvisor’s “Popularity Index” as the #1
recommended hotel in the Naples area. Being new to the
area this is an outstanding tribute to the levels of
quality and service provided by the staff of the
Bellasera. Past guests posting comments and feedback of
the quality of their stay can make or break future
revenue. We encourage you to go to the TripAdvisor web
site and read what guests are saying about their stay at
the Bellasera.
My focus as we move forward is to
bring new ideas to the table on how to increase the top
line revenues and contain costs without affecting
service levels, thereby improving profitability. In the
